Berlin, 2012

From the beginning of the 1940s, Charles and Ray Eames developed the technique of three-dimensional plywood forming. They used it to produce various furniture and sculptures. One of these early designs is the famous two-part elephant. We painted three of these toy elephants for the Vitra Store in Berlin. This gave them an unmistakable character and we built a bridge from the design of that time to contemporary illustration. The unique pieces were exhibited and sold in the store.
